HR Ratios

T.J. Rodgers at Cypress Semiconductor (see previous article No Excuses Interviewing) stresses the importance of knowing the company's revenue per employee and using this to measure yourself against the competition.

Applying a similar yardstick within the human resources function we have the ratio of human resources staff per 100 employees. We have one client who has moved towards the goal of having 1:100 versus 1:50 ratio just a few years ago.
