Wedding Rings Off or On?

Who ever thinks about whether or not women MBA's remove their wedding rings for job interviews?

Felice Schwartz, founder of the New York based research group Catalyst, studied that phenomenon at the Wharton School of Business. As reported in Across the Board magazine, she found that married women students routinely removed their wedding rings before job interviews with on-campus male recruiters. Why? The women students believed that male recruiters used this formula: "Woman = Baby = No commitment."

Let's hope that in the future women can keep their wedding rings on. But first, recruiters must change their attitudes about women's commitments.

How are women treated by your recruiters today?
